Across the state line, deputies, U.S. Marshals, the FBI, and a SWAT team ringed a Louisiana motel for hours before taking Dezmon Clinton, 20, into custody; authorities said he refused to surrender and was wanted in New Orleans on seven human-trafficking counts, with investigators believing he worked out of several motels, and court histories tying him to Jackson in 2021, when, at 15, he was charged with capital murder and armed carjacking in the deaths of Brendan Stuckey and Nicholas Terry, a trajectory now again intersecting with trafficking allegations (Ighodaro, n.d.).
